With more than 1000 employees and 700 physicians, we provide a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services for all ages including emergency, intensive care, stroke, cardiology, maternity, orthopedics and surgery. Responsibilities Receives referred specimens or specimens directly from patients and performs complex qualitative and quantitative analysis. Performs required tests according to established procedures and methodologies. Completes reports for test performed and ensures quality control criteria are met. Documents all quality control and maintains required records to obtain quality testing results. Performs basic Blood Bank testing – including type and antibody screens, rhogam work ups, immediate spin cross matches, retyping of units, issuing of blood products. **MT/MLTs performing Blood Bank testing MUST be certified by ASCP or equivalent** Assists in the evaluation of new or modified techniques when required. Advises and assists in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software as necessary. Qualifications Job Requirements: Must possess a Bachelor's or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a Chemistry, Physical, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or similar Medical Technology Program. Desirable characteristics include at least two years’ experience as a Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technologist Must have or be eligible for ASCP, AMT or AAB certification (non-certified applicants must obtain certification within one year of hire).
