Position Summary: We're constantly growing our portfolio and bringing new products to market. As a Sr Process Engineer, you will help us grow our business. In this role you will be responsible for leading processing scale up and commercialization of new products from lab to full scale production within our food & beverage portfolio - self-stable, refrigerated, sparkling beverages, and fruit-based spreads, also including process development from design, to scale up and implementation. The qualified candidate will have strong practical knowledge in food and beverage process equipment & engineering, and will have a track record of successful commercialization projects, along with the ability to manage and collaborate with cross functional teams. Where You'll Work This role will be based out of our Concord, MA headquarters where you will be immersed in a dynamic workplace where innovation thrives and collaboration is key. What You'll Do: Lead commercial startups of new or improved processes in Welch's manufacturing network and own knowledge transfer to site QA and Manufacturing Plan, coordinate and execute plant trials, and support start-up production Collaborate with Product Development and other cross-functional teams (Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Quality and Marketing) to drive commercialization of new products and productivity projects Perform technical assessment & evaluate process capability of internal and external manufacturing network. Work with the manufacturing site to deliver project requirements Document process specifications in Welch's System that ensure product safety, quality and performance Build expertise and provide technical leadership to the organization in beverages and spreads manufacturing Conduct technical and financial feasibility assessments of relevant technologies in their applicability to Welch's operations, including the development of the corresponding business case Who You Are: A technically skilled professional with demonstrated ability to be successful in lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing scale environments A collaborator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and influence effectively across R&D and cross-functional partners Detail oriented and fast learner Hands on, resourceful and decisive; seeks practical approaches with a bias for action to quickly build and demonstrate new ideas and concepts Applies a growth mindset through continuous experimentation and learning Works relentlessly to overachieve, anticipate obstacles, and creates plans to overcome them - Someone who embraces agility and thrives in a fast paced environment Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines, and have a strong desire for results and ability to bring projects to completion Technically deep and curious; enjoys challenges and problem solving What You'll Need: An equivalent combination of education and experience that proves competence in role may be considered. BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Food Engineering or related fields is required 5+ years of experience required in Process Engineering and New Product Commercialization 8 years of related industry experience in food and beverage is highly preferred Successful track record of accomplishment in a cross-functional environment Experience in technical leadership of projects commercialization, scale up and launch Demonstrate awareness and practice of safety procedures, GMPs, food regulations, and the implications for process development Understanding of project management principles Strong interpersonal communication skills Availability to travel up to an average of 30% based on project requirements At Welch's we value diversity, a passion for what you do, and a commitment to continuous learning.
